The internet is a window that never closes properly. Through it I can see a studio, a bookshop with a perfect index, a person making a chair, a building I will probably never enter, and a life arranged so convincingly that I forget the photograph has an edge.

It is also a mirror with a shopping function. Desire can be searched, compared, saved, and delivered. The impossible life has become strangely administrative. Add to list. Subscribe. Book a flight. Buy the object that will make the room honest.
I do not want to retreat from it. The internet has given me libraries and people to learn from. But looking is not living, and collecting references is not a point of view. The window is useful. I still have to decide what to do in the room.
